The Impact Of Cooperative Learning Techniques On Developing Translation Skills Of ELT Learners
In this paper the ultimate aim is to scrutinize the impact of cooperative learning techniques on developing translation skills of ELT learners at a state university in Turkey. To do so, the researcher has worked with three translation classes in which he applied cooperative learning techniques to develop his ELT candidate’s translation skills. The instructor started his classes by using sentence level translation moving onto paragraph level before the text level. He had his students work in groups that they find interesting, enjoyable, motivating and help them develop positive attitudes towards translation (from Turkish into English) through which them have had the chance to negotiate the topic as well.
