Identification of Information Systems Implementation Strategic Goals in Enterprises

Abstract
Enterprises deciding on the implementation of information systems (IS) always expect benefits that will compensate the incurred financial outlays. Most often, these benefits are directly related to improving the competitive position of the company in the market. Using data from a matched survey of IT experts and business executives in 212 firms, there were uncovered a positive link between implementation of information systems and achieving benefits from realization of strategic goals for IS implementation. Research has shown that enterprises in the activities aimed at improving the competitive position in the market most often use the strategy of cost leadership. It was confirmed that the implementation of widely understood IS positively affects the improvement of the competitive position of the enterprise, while this affluence applies to large enterprises in a greater extent. This research extends and integrates the literature on strategic goals for implementation information systems in enterprises. Keywords - Information Systems, Strategic Aims, Competitive Adventure.
