Paper Title
The Portrayal of Women in Selected Works of Ruskin Bond

Abstract
Males have dominated the society since time immemorial. The supreme authority is vested in their hands and this superiority over females is the result of our social structure or construction. Females are always looked down upon and have been subjugated by men. They are treated more like objects than as human beings. The condition of women over the years hasn’t changed much. Nothing seems to change the mindset of the people, especially of the Indians. The paper speaks about the way Ruskin Bond portrays the miserable condition of Indian women in the modern India and how their lives are still governed by the men of their families through some of his selected works.
