The Evaluation of Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) Service Quality: A Case Study in Minahasa Utara District and Bitung City
Abstract
Posyandu is a community-based health service that provides basic health services for pregnant mothers and children aged under five. However, in recent years, the effectiveness of posyandu implementation has declined because of several factors, for instance, lack of skilled cadres, standardized facilities, and appreciation for cadres. This study aimed to identify the quality of posyandu service based on three elements, input, process, and output. This research was a qualitative study with a descriptive approach which involvedthree posyandu in Minahasa Utara District and three posyandu in Bitung City, North Sulawesi Province. The result of this study showed that technical guidance and assistance for cadres in posyandu revitalization program gave a positive effect, particularly in counseling activity. However, several obstacles were found in body weight measurement, body length and height measurement, completeness in filling out the growth monitoring card (KMS), and the number of community participation in posyandu.
