The Distance from a Point to a Parabola in 2D
This paper discusses the difficulty of the studied problem. By conducting seversal fundamental transformation, the degree of the studied equation reduces such that finally a general closed-form solution can be obtained. Since the studied problem is quite fundamental, the applications are versatile and broden.
