Paper Title
Dots Interpretations in Ceramic Art

Abstract
Scientific definition of a dot is a point where two lines intersect. It does not have a visual value (as it does not have a size in space). But when taken objectively it is a locator and a sign. As a visual expression element, a dot is a circular spot or fleck, which shows a small central feature depending on its location. The dot alone does not indicate a motion. it is stable. But many dots coming side-by-side brings out rhythm and dynamism. The differences between sizes of dots, changes in light and color, differences of interval and sequence enable rich visual effects to be obtained. As an artistic expression tool, many ceramic artists use dots created with various tools, materials and techniques to get rich visual effects in their work. In this study visual effects of the dots on ceramic art, were examined on the works of some chosen ceramic artists with consideration of material and technical differences.
