Performance Comparison of ANN Parameters of Application on Modeling of Glass/Epoxy Composites for Drilling Operation

Abstract
The quality of hole and geometric tolerance is very critical parameters of machining operations. These parameters are affected by material properties and cutting parameters as cutting speed and feed rate. In this experimental and modelling study, the glass/epoxy composites that have different ratio of carbon nanotubes (untreated, 0.5, 1 and 2 %) were produced. The effects of cutting parameters on materials were experimentally performed and the modelled by using ANN. Also, performances of ANN parameters (hidden layers, training functions, methods, etc.) were examined to decrease of modelling error. The results show that ANN has capability modelling of the drilling operation for glass/epoxy composites. Keywords - Drilling, Glass/Epoxy Composite, ANN
