Paper Title
The Antihypertensive Effect of Correlative Neuromodulation Therapy for The Anxiety Patients

Abstract
A positive association of anxiety disorder and hypertension comorbidity was noted by longitudinal and cross-sectional studies. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation(TENS) is an effective treatment in the reduction of sympathetic activity. Correlative Neuromodulation Therapy(CNT) is a physiotherapeutic treatment which directly modulates the autonomic nervous system by stimulating the specific part of the body surface with TENS. This study is a retrospective study of patients with comorbid anxiety disorder and hypertension treated by CNT to evaluate the effectiveness of hypotensive effect for anxiety patients. Eighty patients were diagnosed by licensed doctors as anxiety disorder comorbid with hypertension. All subjects were treated for anxiety with CNT 3 sessions/week for at least 14 sessions in around 30 days. The usage of medication and the reduction of blood pressure and improvement of anxiety were recorded. Fifty-five subjects with complete data were used to assess the effectiveness of CNT. After 14 sessions of CNT treatment, 62.1% of all subjects showed positive effectiveness on hypertension. There is a significant difference between anxiety improvement and reduction of blood pressure(p<0.05).These results suggest that treating anxiety with CNT is also effective on hypertension. In this retrospective study, CNT can be a non-pharmacological treatment for anxiety and hypertension.
