Abstract
Technology has become a worldwide phenomenon. Students, just like other people, are invaded by technological gadgets such as laptops, cell-phones and internet-related activities. The majority of students own a set of technological device, which means that today’s students are different from those of the past. This digital generation is fully affected by technology, and it’s clear that students, as other components of community, are distracted to the point that their learning is undermined, and their output is shallow, if not of zero significance. Time has come to take decisions on how to minimize the effects of drawbacks of technological gadgets on undergraduates to the extent that digital students are back to normal learning study phenomenon. Policy-makers and teachers alike have to take prompt steps to bridge the gap between outside and inside classes and get students much more concentrated. No one can deny the valuable aspects of technology, if reasonably used. Undergraduates shall be instructed the values of technology and how the latter could enhance their daily learning process. It is a sensitive issue, and teachers should approach it diplomatically and academically since University students are adults enough, so they should be fed instructions in a motivating process, of course in a way leading to minimizing the distracting effects of technology-based gadgets in classes. As they make happily use of technology outside class, they should be led academically to the guided use of technology in class for their learning development.
