Investigating the Factors Influencing Behavioral Intention of Students in Educational Campus to Adopt Food Delivery Applications (APPS)

Abstract
It is been learned that most of the earlier research on technology adoption have mostly examined the consumer attitudes toward online services or retail in general with few researchers addressing the consumer experiences with food delivery applications, but till date not many studies have investigated the behavioral intentions of students towards adopting food delivery applications (apps). The study has assimilated the factors from the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). Data was collected using a field survey questionnaire completed by 212 participants who are students from Manipal which is an educational town with over 30,000 students with around 250 restaurants. The results mainly projects that, the behavioral intention towards adoption of food delivery apps is significantly and positively influenced by performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, price value and trust. This study will help food delivery app companies to better understand students in educational town which in turn will help them to build customer base and brand.
