Paper Title
Geological Interpretation of March 20, 2019 Acipayam (Denizli Turkey) Earthquake

Abstract
On March 20, 2019, at 09: 34 local time, a major earthquake occurred in the Acıpayam district in the south of Denizli in the southwestern Anatolia, with a magnitude of 5.5.The epicenter of the earthquake, which has a depth of 10.7 km, is in the vicinity of Ucari Village and Yenikoy, 7 km east of Acipayam (Denizli) district. There were no casualties in the earthquake but caused severe damage in approximately 20 villages. Within one month after the earthquake, there were many aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 2.0 to 5.1. The distribution of aftershocks also extends in NW-SE direction. The earthquake occurred on the Burdur-Fethiye fault zone in NE-SW direction. However, the focal mechanism solutions show that the fault forming the earthquake is NW-SE trending normal fault. This fault is an unknown fault in the literature. For this reason, this fault has been detailed studied. NW-SE trending main fault where the south of Acıpayam and syntetically developed step faults have been identified and mapped. This fault intersects with the fractures of the Fethiye-Burdur fault zone to the east of Acıpayam. Therefore, this fault is likely to trigger these fractures in the near future after the earthquake.
