Cultural Care for Newborn Children 0-5 Years Old: A Case Study of Maehongson Province, Thailand

Abstract
This qualitative research; rapid ethnographic community assessment process is the part of the research project; study of care for newborn children in sociocultural Thai context. This is a case study of Maehongson province, Thailand. Data were collected by researcher and research assistants by using participant observation, in-depth interview, group discussion, talking, and studying relating documents. The informants were the persons who had the pregnancy experiencing and care for newborn children. Data were collected during August 2016 to December 2017 and analyzed by using content analysis and typology analysis. The results indicated 1) community contexts; lend a hard, flounder, family size, intent in multicultural ethnics and Buddhism, 2)cultural and social contexts; scene of pregnant, newborn children context, and 3 community care process for newborn children; related persons and institutions, and their activities.
