Paper Title
Managing Spectator Violence in Sport: Sport Manager Responsibilities

Abstract
The prevalence of violence in sport is cause for concern (Spaaij & Schaille, 2019) and must be addressed by the caretakers of sport. It is the responsibility of sport managers to develop and implement strategies for the purpose of reducing unsportsmanlike violence in sport and protecting its integrity. This paper offers and discusses the following three strategies to diminish violence in sport: (a) understanding the competitive premise under which sport takes place, (b) recognizing the “psyche” of the spectator, and (c) addressing spectator violence through policy.
