Paper Title
Chloro-Compounds Reduction From Paper Industry Wastewater Through Electrocoagulation Treatment
Abstract
In the present work, the description on removal of chlorophenols from pulp and paper industry wastewater has been studied. The optimum condition with SS-304 electrode has been utilized for the reduction of chlorophenol. A mixture of 20 chlorophenol compounds has been analyzed by GC-MS. 14 compounds have been identified in spectrum and 10 compounds were identified effluent generated by the pulp and paper industry. The effluent has been treated with the electrocoagulation method, before and after treatment, wastewater has been characterized in terms COD, BOD5, color, chlorophenols. The qualitative and quantitative analyses of chlorophenols have been carried out with the help of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. At optimized conditions, a significant amount of COD (82%), color (>99%), BOD3 (69%) and chlrophenolics (78.35%) have been removed after the treatment.
