Reduction of Phosphate Ion (Po43-) in Hospital Wastewater Using Electrolysis Method

Abstract
The study of reduction of PO43- in hospital waste liquid water using electrolysis method has been done. Electrolysis method has used carbon electrode without electrolyte. Hospital waste needs to be treated because it contains pathogenic microorganisms, metabolic outcomes in patients, radioactive elements and harmful and toxic chemicals. Hospital waste has to get attention because it has enormous risks to people and the environment. Electrolysis time for 90 minutes is the most optimal time to reduce the concentration of phosphate from 7.06 ppm to 3.15 ppm. This method has several advantages such as easy, cheap, environmental friendly so that it can reduce the budget cost, the use of chemicals and difficult treatment.
