Minimization False Positive in Intrusion Detection System IDS

Abstract
An essential aspect within organization, government is to secure their data, network from any harm, or manipulating. Nowadays, with the increasing of cyber attacks around the world, the safety of these assets become a necessity. In fact, there are a lot of mechanisms that provide layer of protection to the orgnaiztion’s Data, or network from external and internal threats. A great example of network security is, An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) one of the network’s defenses that helps the organization to detect and alarm the suspicious activity in the network. However, IDS sometime get high rate of positive false. Meaning, the admin of the network may receive false alarm from Intrusion Detection System without any malicious activate. The consequence of this event could be prevented if we minimized this rate, false alarm, as much as possible. In fact, the mean point of my research paper is to propose ways that deals with alerts, reducing alarm’s rate and distinguishing between all types of alerts such as false positive, and negative false. Finally, increasing the efficiency of Intrusion Detection System will make it more reliabl. Index Terms - Network Security, Intrusion Detection System, Cyber-attack, False Alarm.
