Abstract
The objective of this research paper is to investigate the utility of the punishment in the classroom as a way of management of the classroom discipline, parallel to the. Buddhist View on punishment. Buddhism rejects any kind of punishment which leads to physical or mental harassments. Even though, it doesn't convey the fact that the punishments are not applicable. Buddha as a spiritual leader has used himself punishment for the wellbeing of the "Maha Sangha" (disciples) The way of punishment in Buddhism is more democratic and the wrong doer willingly accept and confess his own fault and accepts the punishment accordingly. In the same way the paper discusses the utility of the punishment in the classroom when it comes as in the Buddhism
