The Impact of ERP Implementation on Firm Performance
Abstract
In recent years, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, or Industry 4.0 has been at the center of discussion around the globe. As a result of intensive integration of technology, a new wave of IT system implementations is sweeping through the business world. Among them is ERP, or enterprise resource planning, one of the most potent enterprise applications. It enables a business to become synchronized through a database of interwoven metrics, procedures and applications. In this study, we initially employ data analysis with three statistical software. Through conduction of reliability analysis and Exploratory Factor analysis, we built a framework based on Structural Equation Modelling. Analyzed data indicates that ERP implementation has positive impacts on both organizational capability and firm’s competitive advantage, in which individual impact has a higher effect in comparison with service quality, information quality, user fulfillment, and organizational impact. The purpose of this study is to assess how ERP implementation affects the conventional operation of an organization’s system in a whole though a set of. five hypotheses. After careful consideration, we conclude that the positive results of these hypotheses have proved ERP’s potential, which help explore some options and recommendations to application in Vietnamese firms.
