Paper Title
A Decision-Making Model For Evaluating Senior Daycare Centers
Abstract
In present era, most developed countries are facing the crisis of population aging. In Taiwan, where the elderly were often taken care of by their children in the past, the industrialization has led to rapid demographic changes. Today, the elderly can no longer depend on the children who are often struggling with their career, and the need for autonomy and independence of the elderly has increased. A senior daycare center, which is very similar to a daycare center for toddlers and preschoolers, is an option for the elderly. The elderly can have a place to go during daytime and have a more diversified social life. This research first reviews the relevant literature and interviews experts in the senior care field. The criteria and the sub-criteria for evaluating senior daycare centers are listed. A network for evaluating senior daycare centers can be constructed then. The assessment model for selecting senior daycare center can provide references for families, government agencies and senior daycare centers in making related decisions.
