Paper Title
Modeling and Simulation of The Brain Shift Using a Simplified Geometric Model

Abstract
This paper presents the modeling and simulation of brain displacement, known as brain shift, present in neurosurgery operations. A simplified geometry was used from parallelepipeds which represent a portion of the deformable tissue. A physical model associated with the calculation of brain shift was used and its elastic behavior was simulated using the ComsolĀ® multiphysics software. The presented approach allows to obtain more realistic results in the calculations of the brain shift, and may be used in the future in the simulation of the whole brain composed of multiple geometric bodies, which will be of great help to the surgeon in this type of surgical interventions. Index Terms: Brain shift, Neurosurgery, Constitutive parameters, Hyperelastic model.
