Interaction Of Fundamental Anti-Symmetric Lamb Wave Mode With Through-Hole In Composite Laminates

Abstract
The scattering characteristics of the fundamental anti-symmetric (A0) Lamb wave mode at a through hole in a composite laminate have been analyzed in this work. The Lamb wave propagation in a quasi-isotropic composite laminate is presented using 3D finite element analysis. Backward and forward scattering of A0 mode at through hole is compared and analysed. Further, the scattering characteristics in different directions are studied which are important for the damage localization techniques employing a distributed transducer network.
