Management of Electronic Certificate Status Information Based on Public Key Infrastructure With Blockchain Technology
In this study, we proposed a system in which traditional public key infrastructure (PKI) based certificate status information are kept on the blockchain platform using the designed hybrid X.509 certificate structure. Through proposed model electronic certificates history can be accessed in a reliable way from logs by solving the single point of failure problem. This study also provides an alternative solution to the traditional certificate revocation list (CRL) and online certificate status protocol (OCSP) methods for online certificate revocation information.
