The Role of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education and Culture on the Establishment of State Vocational Characters in Early Childhood Education (ECE)

Abstract
Dealing with the threat to the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Education must be able to provide students with a full understanding of the policy of the State Defense. Education in early childhood is the most basic education and occupies a golden age position and very strategic in human resource development (ECE Directorate, 2005). At present, there are many places that carry out Early Childhood Education (ECE) using various methods and curricula and are generally influenced by the educational foundations in charge. Early childhood education is considered a reflection of a social order, but there is also a view that suggests that attitudes and behavior of a society are seen as a success or as a failure in education and the success of education depends on early childhood education because if the implementation of education in children early good, then the education process at the age of adolescence, adulthood will rise as well. With the diversity of ECE education models, the problem is how the country's defense values are implemented in character building in ECE. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education and Culture have carried out their roles through the establishment of state defense character education policies for ECE. But there is still a need for socialization and cooperation with several parties so that the implementation of the policy goes well, in accordance with the targets and objectives to be achieved.
