Global Virtual Teams in The Classroom: Enhancing Leadership & Connecting Students to The World
International business is best learned by experience. Case methodology has been used for decades as a way to bring real world business situations into the classroom and to offer students the simulated experience of dealing with and solving a range of business problems. However, in today’s technology driven world, an alternative to case methodology, one that offers hands-on experience across business disciplines and across cultural boundaries, presents a better solution to preparing students for successful careers. Additionally, cases are often based on large corporations from a western viewpoint or framework. Introducing Global Virtual Teams into classrooms benefits student learning and career preparation. This paper will highlight how such teams work and their value for classroom learning.
