Traction And Fem Analysis On Cage Wheel For Biasi Cultivation
Abstract
The study was aimed to investigate the tractive and drawbar performance and finite element analysis of different cage wheel for biasi cultivation. Biasi is very important intercultural practice in broadcasted paddy field done on 5-10cm depth of water. Presently biasi is done by animal drawn plough which consumes time and energy for reducing this a suitable cage wheel is developed. The study also revealed that lug angle, diameter, and wheel slip significantly affect the draft, drawbar power and tractive efficiency of cage wheel. There were three different cage wheel were studied 30º,45º and 60º and different diameter 68,73 and 78cm . The maximum tractive efficiency 79.20% was with 11% wheel slip, observed for cage wheel 45º lug angle with 73 cm diameter and it was found suitable for Biasi operation. In this cage wheel maximum stress are applied at rod inclination point approximate 68.47 MPa this stress are safe at 9 times of this design to compare material yield stress is 620.422 MPa during the biasi operation through finite element method by solid works design. It was found that cone index reduced 156Kpa to 94Kpa and 53Kpa with increasing moisture content from 40% to 55 and 61% flooded condition respectively.
