Writing Errors of Business English Major Students
Abstract
The aim of this research is to investigate the written error of the 4th year Business English students enrolled in the second of academic year 2017. The samples were selected by purposive sampling. They were asked to write a letter to thank for a birthday gift. The errors were identified and classified into 9 categories by using the framework proposed by James’s (1998) such as prepositions, articles, singular/plural, adjectives, Irregular verbs, tenses, concord, passive/active, and possessive case by using basics statistical data analysis [9]. Findings showed that the students have a high level of writing difficulties on tense. learners made error on tenses, preposition and concord, respectively.
