The Effectiveness of Family Counseling in The North Eastern Nigeria: Attitude and Response of The Bokoharram Internally Displaced Persons Towards Family Counseling

Abstract
The emergence of Boko Haram (meaning ‘ Western education is forbiden’) in Nigeria has given rise to an appalling lively hood in the North East region of Nigeria, affected mostly with people from Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states. It deliberate threat on everyone both the children and the aged had been devastated. Bombings, kidnapping and drive by shooting are everywhere of the north eastern Nigeria. The main aim of the group is to Islamize Nigeria with the notion that elites are swept away by the western world through western education. Citizens from the above mentioned states are seriously affected that they live as refuges within camps with host families in their country. They are displaced internally and left with no other choice but to rely for support on government agencies and aids to meet up their basic needs. However, supports from agencies drops from time to time and sometimes becomes tired. This study therefore, intends to look into the theoretical and historical emergence of Boko Haram in Nigeria, the psychological effects on both the young and the aged, and the interest of parents from the three affected states on western education.
