Paper Title
Heterosis In Cucumbers, Cucumis Sativus L

Abstract
The present paper is concerned with the study of heterosis at various hybrid genotypes of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). Cucumber quality traits like fruit colour, shape, size and its nutritional quality are of prime importance for breeders to improve the crop. The results revealed the relation between some physiologo-biochemical parameters like content of total proteins, catalase activity and content of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) with heterosis. These biochemical andmolecularparameterscan forecast the heterosis at early stages of plants ontogenetic development. The problem of heterosis is of interest among researchers for their uniqueness. Established that heterosic effect of many agricultural crops occurs in the first generation hybrids on productivity, such hybrids have substantial growth, strong development, intensity metabolic processes, etc.
