Analisys of the Representation of Gender in Polish Textbooks for First Grade of Elemenatry School

Abstract
For children school textbooks are one of the most important sources of knowledge. The information learned during the period of the first grade of elementary school may have a strong impact on views presented in adult life. This research investigates the representation of gender in Polish textbook for first grade of elementary school from year 2018. The results shows that even though progress towards presentation of gender equality can be observed, the portrayal of gender roles is still slightly imbalanced in favor of male characters.
