Rural Urban Education in Nepal
Abstract
The present study entitled “rural education in Nepal” has taken up to find the differences in education between men and women in urban areas. The study revealed that the urban people have higher education than rural area. Years of the schooling in urban area was more than twice for both men and women and the differences in education in urban area is smallest than the rural area. The differences in education between men and women were smaller among the younger age group and the differences for the two older age groups were large in both urban and rural areas. The level of education is lower in the rural areas compared to urban area and the gender significantly influences the level of education. Probity model shows the gender and location (urban/rural) area area significant determinants of schooling.
