Paper Title
Developments of Interactive Mobile-Learning Application for On-site Architectural Sketching
Abstract
Implementing an analytical drawing process into on-site architectural sketching application software can encourage three-dimensional thinking and visualization providing needed value for architectural education. This paper proposes a software solution that addresses the current disparity existing between in-class instruction and professional on-site field work by assisting students find solutions based on the combination of theory and case studies presented from their mobile phones. This study adopts an action research methodology and develops a mobile learning application to bring an in-class explanatory presentation to the field through the handheld mobile device. The pilot test of the mobile application demonstrates that interactive illustration can effectively help students review information while referring to real scenes and provides a promising direction for utilizing computer-assisted instruction for on-site architectural sketching.
