The Impact of Employee Empowerment on Machine Operator Job Satisfaction in Apparel Industry: With Special Reference to Anuradhapura District in Sri Lanka

Abstract
Employee Job Satisfaction is one of the most important factor for achieve organization’s entire goals and objectives. Because of Job satisfaction is very essential for employees to perform their duties and responsibilities effectively and efficiently. By today, there is high job dissatisfaction among machine operators in apparel industry in Anuradhapura district. By following this issue, the researcher intended to find out the impact of employee empowerment on job satisfaction towards machine operators in apparel industry in Anuradhapura district. Accordingly researcher has selected five dimensions as power, knowledge and skills, rewards, competence, and self-determination as independent variable for measure the impact of employee empowerment on job satisfaction. The researcher focused on survey method under the deductive research approach and this research study is belonging to quantitative research. Questionnaire was used as the instrument for obtain data for conduct the research study and the researcher selected 100 machine operators as the sample from the population. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 21.0v statistical software. In this study used correlation analysis and regression analysis to measure the acceptance of the hypothesis. The results obtained by the study shown that there is a significant positive relationship between power, knowledge & kills, and self-determination with job satisfaction and rewards and competence have positive relationship with job satisfaction but not significant. According to the analyzed data, the researcher is concluded that Employee Empowerment significantly impact on Job satisfaction of machine operators in apparel industry in Anuradhapura district.
