The Effect of Extra-Curricular Activities in HIZMET Movement Schools on Students’ Personal Growth: A Case Study in Kurdistan Region, Iraq

Abstract
It should be emphasized that the role of schools is not only to transmit the knowledge, but also educate students morally as well. In Hizmet Movement schools (HMS), the intellectual and spiritual development of students holds a prominent place. Teachers in HMS are inspired to generate students with high morals and distinguished virtues, as well as excellent intellectual capabilities. This paperexplorers the dual role of teachers in HMS as transmitters of knowledge and builders of good character. The paper particularly investigates the role of extra-curricular activities carried out by teachers in HMS in forming the ideal human character.
