Teachers’ Perspective About Content Of Computer Education At Elementary Level In Pakistan

Abstract
The research study intended to analyze teachers’ perspective about computer education content at elementary level in Pakistan. The objectives of the study includedtoexamine the potential of computer education subject with reference to challenges of 21st century andto find out the competence level of teachers for teaching computer subject.The target population consisted of 50 Computer teachers of elementary level teaching in public sector urban schools/colleges of Islamabad. The entire population was taken as sample of studyusing universal sampling technique. Close-ended questionnaire for teachers was developed as research tool.Three point Likert scale was used for scoring the responses on the instrument. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistical measures i.e. percentage and mean score. The results showed thatthe content of computer education seemed to be outdated and has many shortcomings as compared to 21st century technological trends.The study recommended that thecurriculum may be revised so latest technology trends and concepts may be incorporated in the content to meet the leaning needs of 21st century.
