Optimization Determination the Type and the Number of High-Speed Rail Units in Indonesia
Abstract
One of the crucial strategic planning in the high-speed rail projects is rolling stock planning strategic. The main problem is balancing between limited investment costs and composition of the fleet needed. The objective of this study is to determine the types and the number of high-speed rail at initial of operation year. The optimization models are developed using two-stage integer programming. From the case study, the type of high-speed rail should be used is CRH2A with total units of 10 units or 800 cars, 7 units are owned and the rest are leased. In this study, scenario analysis was also carried out based on the scenario of the number of ridership.
