Perception of Thai Employees on the Influence of Physical Appearance and Grooming on Nonverbal Interpersonal Communication and Professional Opportunities

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to find out the perception of Thai employees working for Ocean Life Insurance Public Company Limited Head Office in Bangkok, Thailand, on the influence of physical appearance (skin color and weight) and grooming (clothing and accessories) on non-verbal interpersonal communication, and perception of how physical appearance and grooming affect professional opportunities. This study utilized a quantitative method by using questionnaires as data collection instrument. The sample group was 269 employees working for the head office. The findings showed that the physical appearance and grooming hardly affected on non-verbal interpersonal communication among Thai employees and on professional opportunities.
