Paper Title
Diagnosis Of Contamination Of Algerian Coastal Waters By Aromatic Hydrocarbons
Abstract
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are pollutants of concern due to their persistent in the marine ecosystem, thus they can cause long-term adverse effect to the marine life. This study focused on the extraction and analysis by Ultra-Violet fluorescence spectroscopy of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons contained in the superficial marine waters of Algiers Bay (center) and Bou-Ismail Bay (west of Algiers). The results revealed a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon levels ranged from 0.64 µg/L to 1.17 µg/L for the different sampling stations considered in the studied area.
