Research on The Teaching Reform and Practice of Robotics Course

Abstract
Robots play a significant role in industrial world and people’s daily life. Robotics course is one of important fundamental courses in robot research field. Project-based learning (PBL) was applied in the teaching reform of robotics course, which includes three stages. Firstly, students investigate the robot development by themselves and give a presentation by a group. Secondly, robotic experiments are designed to deepen the understanding of D-H model. Finally, curriculum design using Arduino controlled small car provides different design choices for students. The questionnaire about this teaching reform shows that more than 60% students think the reform is effective and PBL is an effective teaching method for the Robotics course.
