The Development Of Western Music Skills For Thai Qualification Framework For Higher Education: Case Study Of Rajabhat Universities In Bangkok
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to study the framework of western music skills on curriculum of Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok and to develop the framework of western music skills in term of Thai Qualification Framework for higher education. The instrument was an interview constructed to collect the information from teachers in Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok by means of conversations on different issues pertaining to this qualitative research whose contents, details and analytical study results were subsequently classified and rearranged according to the specified objectives, presenting its findings in form of descriptive analyses in a written document. The results of this study revealed that 1)There are 6 steps of the subjects in 3 main themes of Western music skills in Rajabhat Universities in Bangkok consisted of the instruments practical skills, the ensemble and the public performances. The instruments practical skills, students must learn listening, scale practices, music lessons and sight reading. 2) In term of Qualification Framework of Western Music skills, there are 4 main themes of Western music skills consisted of the instruments practical 4 skills, the ensemble, the public performances and the international standard test. The teachers� opinion that should be evaluated to calibration standards such as the Trinity College of England that are recognized internationally. Students have to motivate you to practice for competitions to the international standards.
