O&M Management Framework for Pipeline Project in Extreme Cold Region

Abstract
Recent interest in energy development in the Arctic Circle is steadily increasing. The Republic of Korea (hereafter, ROK) depends on imports for 97% of its energy needs. South Korea is looking to develop energy in extreme climates. However, resource development projects in extreme climate regions have very high risks. The purpose of this study is to construct a frame that can utilize vast amount of data and information generated during the construction phase for the O&M stage. In order to achieve the research purpose, literatures on this research topic are reviewed, and the business process of the design stage of pipeline projects in extreme cold region as well as the characteristics of the important items are analyzed. Additionally, the result of this study will be used to build the comprehensive information management system for the entire process.
