The Trade Relations Between Poland and Newly In-Dustrialized Economies in The Light of Linder”S Overlapping Demand Theory

Abstract
Scholars for centuries have been researching factors that influence trade relations between countries. One of the modern theories that is widely used nowadays is Linder’s Overlapping Demand Theory, according to which close structure of preference determines level of bilateral trade. This study is aimed at analyzing whether Linder’s Theory accurately explains the trade relations between Poland and Newly Industrialized Economies. Is GDP per capita the main factor behind current level of trade turnover? Or are trade relations completely unrelated to preference structure between analyzed countries? Finding the answers to those questions is the main purpose of this research paper. Index Terms - Poland, Newly Industrialized Economies, Trade relations, Linder’s Overlapping Demand Theory
