Synergistic Tio2/Ag+Nanoparticles And Its Enhanced Antimicrobial Activity Under Photocatalytic System

Abstract
The TiO2/Ag+ nanoparticles (TiO2/Ag+ NPs) was prepared via a liquid phase deposition (LPD) process and its application for antimicrobial activity test. The simultaneous AgNO3 was soluble in NH4OH solution which containing the TiO2-P25 material to obtain the TiO2/Ag+ NPs. Subsequently, the antimicrobial test was performed via well diffusion method by using Potato Dextro Agar (PDA) media in two layers (solid and semi-solid). These results show that the TiO2/Ag+NPs was successfully prepared with morphology and nanostructure size of 50 nm. It is supported by Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectra shows that the Oxygen (O), Titanium (Ti), and Silver (Ag) elements were detected with a percent composition were 58.16% (0.35 KeV), 41.13% (4.50 KeV), and 0.72% (2.90 KeV). Furthermore, the antimicrobial activity was tested against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans exhibited that the concentration of 15% TiO2/Ag+ NPs has high inhibitory zone produced under visible light illumination with a diameter size of 18.77 mm, 19.88, and 20.22, respectively.
