Values In The Song Lyrics Among Asperger’s Children: Discourse Analysis Theory

Abstract
Asperger’s children need differentiation in teaching and learning as compared to normal children. Using songs in the classroom help them to boost up their motivation in learning. Therefore, the objectives of the study are to identify and discuss the values in “My Family” song lyrics for Asperger’s Children. The samples of the study consist of four Asperger children from a school in Malaysia. The subjects were taught about the song and song lyrics were explained and discussed. The subjects were given the chance to give their views and opinions about the song lyrics. The results of the study revealed that the song lyrics consist of helping others, loving, caring and virtue. The song lyrics help the Asperger children in the process of understanding the values and inculcate the values in their everyday lives. Index Terms - values, Asperger children, song lyrics, motivation
