Impact of Trade Liberalization on Economic Growth in Developing Countries: Does Physical Capital Formation Matter?

Abstract
The objective of this study is to empirically explore the impact of trade liberalization on GDP growth via Physical capital Formation development level in a panel data set of 70 selected developing countries spanning 1980 to 2015. The results outline that trade liberalization-growth experiences a turning point from negative to positive. Furthermore, empirical results reveal that in countries with Physical capital Formation development level higher than the critical value take full advantage of trade liberalization, while the countries with Physical capital Formation development level lower than the critical value are still waiting for catch up to take the full advantage of trade openness.
