Abstract
Project portfolio selection problem has been raising a remarkable attention within the last decades. The issue can be highlighted from distinctive perspectives. For instance, the fact that a good portfolio of projects can improve the organization capabilities may be taken into account as an advice to investigate the problem. Consequently, the paper proposes a novel approach to deal with the projects selection, based on the requirements to tailor a given project with respect to the adopted project management standard. To do so, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to determine the projects’ weights with regard to the most important features advisable to be considered in tailoring. Finally, the model is used in a telecom-industry case study.
