Team Composition Optimization Based On Competencies And Social Relationships For Enterprises

Abstract
Composition of a good working team must consider competencies of team members and social relationships among them. It is a complex combinatorial optimization problem. When the total number of candidate members and the number of criteria become large, finding an exact solution within a short period of time seems to be infeasible. This study first uses sociometry to explore the social relationships among team members, and then a team is optimized using genetic algorithm (GA) according to the social relationships among members and required competencies of the team. To make sure the approach to be effective, this study performs a number of experiments on the basis of enterprise demand situation. Results from this study show that the proposed approach can produce an optimized team which meets the requirements of enterprises in a short time.
