How Does ‘Ideator’ Work for Designers in The Ideation?

Abstract
The study carried out the validation on the designers’ working efficiency during ideation by using a support tool ‘IDEATOR’. Observations were applied to investigate the behaviors of the designers who working with ‘IDEATOR’ during ideation. Finally, the study conducted a questionnaire survey and retrospective interviews to understand the designers’ satisfy level with the core functions of ‘IDEATOR’. The results show that the designers presented gathering information (GA) and generating ideas (GI) behaviors more frequently than other behaviors during ideation. Besides, the three core functions of IDEATOR effectively supported designers’ ideation according to their response. Keywords - Brainstorming Tool, Ideation, Image Searching, Mind Mapping.
