An Exploratory Study on the Factors Influencing Career Motivation Among Lecturers in Private University Colleges in Selangor, Malaysia

Abstract
The research investigates factors contributing career motivation among academicians from private universities and colleges based in Selangor, Malaysia. The findings will encourage the academicians to focus on their career advancement and simultaneously achieve the vital objectives of colleges and universities to obtain long term sustainable competitive advantage. Tertiary institutions largely depend on effective, efficient, dedicated, committed and most importantly highly motivated knowledge workers to realize corporate university objective. A quantitative research based on questionnaire will be distributed to 200 lecturers from various tertiary institution in Shah Alam, Selangor. The present paper applies resources based view theory approach. Key words - Academicians, Fairness, Leadership, Motivation and Reward.
