Citizenship Values Among Youth in Kuwait Society

Abstract
The major aim of this study is to examine the role of school in supporting and enhancing the citizenship values among students. It examines also how many information concern the citizenship that the students have. It examines also the relationship between citizenship values and students knowledge. The study tries to answer the following questions: What is the role of school in supporting and enhancing values of citizenship among students? Is the information in the school curriculums enhancing citizenship values? How is the amount of information concern citizenship values that students have obtained through years of study at school? Is there a relationship between citizenship values and students’ political and constitutional knowledge? A sample of 500 freshmen students came from Kuwait University and Public Authority of Applied and Training Education were selected. They are selected from freshmen classes in the introductory courses. A questionnaire is the major tools of this study. A scale that measure political, institutional and historical information have been used. Also, citizenship scale was used. SPSS has used for data entry and analysis. A low political and constitutional knowledge of information is expected which related to the citizenship values scale.
