Paper Title
Energy Conservation Operational Behavior Strategies of Air Conditioning System Based on Energy and Outdoor Temperature Monitoring

Abstract
Taiwan is located in hot-humid climate zone, the energy consumptions in air conditioning accounts for about 45% of the total use of energy. Most energy relies on import, so the energy consumptions in air conditioning and energy-saving strategies have become the current important issues. There are many methods for air conditioning energy saving. In addition to reviewing the efficiency of air conditioning equipment, the application most widely used now is to incorporate Building Energy Management System (BEMS) which monitors the temperature, pressure, flow and frequency conversion technology applied by air conditioning equipment in air side and water side. The conversion and feedback of these monitoring signals come from the same message, namely the setting conditions of temperature and humidity in the indoor environment. And the operating capacity of chiller, AHU, pump and cooling tower also applies this principle. Although this mainstream technology has contributed a lot to the energy saving, there is still the space for improvement. The temperature and humidity in the indoor space have been controlled stably through the setting and monitoring, but the conditions of outdoor air change seasonally. Therefore, the indoor thermal comfort conditions will also change accordingly. It is like that ASHRAE’s thermal comfort condition has different specifications in winter and summer. Thus, the monitoring in air conditioning equipment in the future will not only focus on indoor air conditions but also pay attention to the behavioral factors set according to the fact that the indoor environment temperature varies with outdoor environment temperature. In Taiwan, there are few researches concurrently monitoring the indoor environment and outdoor environment temperature at present. This research gets rid of the thinking model centering on air conditioning equipment to establish a set of smart monitoring system, including environmental monitoring and power monitoring, so as to read and record the air conditions in the indoor and outdoor environment, the operational energy consumptions and power factor of air conditioning equipment and try to discuss the opportunity to reduce the energy consumptions by climate conditions and operational behaviors. By searching for the recent literature, it is found that some researches are conducted from the similar type, which shows that it will be the important trend in the future. According to the research results, it is found that the monitoring in outdoor air conditions has the energy-saving contribution to the set value of indoor air conditioning temperature, which proves that it really has the implementation value. Aimed at the energy consumptions caused by operational behavior and power factor, the specific and clear suggestions are also put forward. It is expected that the results of this research can be applied to the future planning to make contributions to reducing the energy consumptions of air conditioning equipment.
